Power Academy/YMMV
- Complete Monster: Nether, even before the Zombie Apocalypse side story, as well as Fury's father Damian.
- Simon hints that the Great Old Ones are this, as far as we know.
- Vladimir, a Mad Scientist who turned himself into a mechanical abomination to become immortal and offers to do the same to others who wish to "ascend".
- Trigan, a murderous Mad Scientist, in addition to horribly mistreating his daughter Aqua in the past, using her in his experiments.
- Terminus, the omniscient Eldritch Abomination that threatened to destroy the universe--seen only through details given by Sakura.
- Crazy Awesome: Harken, Sebastian
- Draco in Leather Pants: Swilium may be heading in this direction.
- Heartwarming Moments: Pretty much any time a couple gets together or has an Aw, Look -- They Really Do Love Each Other moment.
- Ho Yay: Quite a bit to go around, of both the male and female varieties...and there's also the same-sex relationships.
- Magnificent Bastard: Alexei, who early on manages to smooth-talk his way out of getting into hot water with the Headmaster.
- Memetic Molester: Kivuli.
- Meg, the future daughter of Harken and Magi. "And when she sleeps, people get molested."
- Memetic Sex God: Foremen.
- Moe: Christine, Foremen, Valerie and Lightning
- Haven counts as well.
- The absolutely adorable Elana.
- Moral Event Horizon: If Nether wasn't already past this in the Zombie Apocalypse thread when he created the zombie horde, he definitely crossed it when he kills Christine.
- Trigan shot past it upon killing Atiago, Haven, Skill and Ability.
- In the Zombies thread, though it's only an offhand comment, Garrett mentions that Vladimir led a cyborg army on a bloody rampage through the town. Vladimir also veers close to this in the main story by offering to convert Trigan to a cyborg if he refuses to cooperate with James--among the many other atrocities hinted at.
- When they were still together, Helena once dared Talan to wear a dress for her in private. She crossed the line when she took pictures and posted them on the Internet for all to see, driving Talan nearly to suicide. Upon learning this, Lightning vowed to make her pay.
- Nightmare Fuel:
- Drama teacher Sebastian, a hyperactive demon with a shark form.
- What Swilium does to the Boys' Dorm early on, turning it into "a living level of Amnesia the Dark Descent."
- The horde in the Zombie Apocalypse thread.
- Everything about Vladimir and his plans for immortality.
- Real Women Never Wear Dresses: Wholeheartedly averted/defied; there is no correlation between femininity and ability. As El Terre describes Alice, "I love a girl who can be sweet and proper...and then snap a good piece of rock in half when she needs to."
- Tear Jerker: Many moments, particularly Christine's death being set in stone.
- Ugly Cute: Alderon's skeleton wolf familiar and Midori, Lily's pet venus flytrap.
- The Woobie: Christine, easily--who at times doubles as a Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds. Not to mention that so many people want to just give her a big hug.
- Haven has had a very rough life, to put it lightly.
- Aqua has spent much of her life as one of Trigan's hapless test subjects; the fact that she breaks down crying when she learns that Trigan has come to the Academy reinforces her Woobie-ness.
- Lightning, upon her backstory being revealed.
- Who wouldn't want to give Elana a big hug?
- It was debatable before, but Dahlia certainly becomes one upon accidentally being burned and scarred by Fury.
- Iron Woobie: Valerie, especially during the Zombie Apocalypse thread.
- Also Tala and Wendy.
- Alice certainly counts; though outwardly tough, she's clearly vulnerable around El Terre.
- Alexei (no pun intended), not helped by the implication that he was once one of Vladimir's subjects.
- Surprisingly, Talan qualifies, given the revelation about the incident Helena put him through--to the point of being borderline suicidal. Clearly, he's gotten better, though.
- Jerkass Woobie: Swilium, Fury
- Stoic Woobie: El Terre, Simon
- James is probably the biggest example of the Stoic Woobie in the forum. Power Academy is his life's work, and he fears he will have nowhere to go if it fails--and it's already in danger of failing. It's not until he opens up to Lily that his inner turmoil is made apparent.
- World of Woobie: Dammit, (mostly) everybody needs a hug.
