Popotan/Trivia
Trivia tropes:
- Beam Me Up, Scotty
- Despite being known as the "Popotan dance" in some circles, "Caramelldansen" is not in any way actually from the series; the game's opening was merely the inspiration for the dance. It doesn't stop art featuring only the dance from getting a "Popotan" label on sites such as DeviantART.
- Furthermore, some reviews use artwork from the visual novel when discussing the anime. Not only are they completely different stories, but there are also some noticable differences in character design between the two, as noted on the main page.
- Cross-Dressing Voices -- Yuki Kaida, young Daichi's voice actress, is not a little boy. Reece Thompson, while not exactly Daichi's age at the time of dubbing, averts this trope in the English version.
- Name's the Same -- The music composer's name is Osamu Tezuka. No, really.
- Relationship Voice Actor
- Mai and Konami were previously Saga and Sugar. No wonder they became friends.
- Masumi Asano was, along with Ai, also in He Is My Master as Izumi Sawatari and her mother (later joined by Unagi), and in Solty Rei as Rose Anderson and Miranda Maverick.
- Mii and Nono were once Utamaru and Nemu Asakura, and Asano chimed in as Nanako Saitama in the second season.
- Asuka and adult Daichi have met before as well: they were Eina and Eiji from Gravion, a series which also happened to include Momoi and Asano. In Please Twins!, they played Miina Miyafuji and Kousei Shimazaki, which just so happened to also star Asano as Akina Sagawa.
- Mai and Mea would later cross paths as Hakufu Sonsaku and Koumei Shokatsuryou.
- Sayaka Ohara and Ayako Kawasumi were Kaede Misumi and Koishi Herikawa in Please Teacher.
- Sakura Nogawa is Kunugi-tan. Tomomichi Nishimura (Nono's grandfather) is her butler. How's that for a role reversal?
- While Mai and the older Daichi never actually speak with each other, their voice actors were Chloe Valens and Senel Coolidge and have co-starred in several other works, albeit not with the same importance.
- In the English dub, Ai and Unagi are Princesses Celestia and Luna. Nicole Bouma (Mai), Jocelyne Loewen (Mii), Anna Cummer (Mea), Brenna O'Brien (Nono) and Brian Drummond (Keith) also appear alongside Tabitha St. Germain in Shakugan no Shana, while Drummond and Oliver play a less deceptive couple than Keith and Ai in The Girl Who Leapt Through Time as Makoto's parents.
- And many more. Seiyuu Info is your friend.

Regular trivia:
- The anime has a continuation in the form of Poporaji, a radio drama. Ohara, Asano, Momoi, Kadowaki and Kawasumi reprise their roles as Ai, Mai, Mii, Mea and Unagi respectively.
- The only episode in which a bath scene does not occur is episode 10. It does, however, have a shower scene, in case you were disappointed.
- Mai's character design is strikingly similar to that of Komugi Nakahara's from Nurse Witch Komugi; true enough, both characters were drawn by Akio Watanabe (the former under the pen name Poyoyon Rock). Komugi also shares both her voice actresses (Halko Momoi and Jocelyne Loewen) with Mii.
