- When Bud and Bill wake up after painting all night and that inspirational music is playing as the townspeople talk about their mural.
- When Bud turns his own father color. Actually basically his entire speech in the courthouse. "There are so many things, that are so much better..."
- When David returns to the real world, he notices his mother is in the dining room crying. She left town to meet a potential boyfriend, kick starting the events of the movie. However she chickened out, due to being insecure about her age in comparison to his. As well as lamenting that her life used to be perfect. David comforts her, by wiping the tears off her eyes and assuring her that there is no perfection. Causing her to smile while the following exchange happens.
Mom: How did you get so smart all of the sudden?
David: I had a good day.
