Nerf NOW!!/YMMV

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Mega Man as a mindless killing machine and Link as a serial kidnapper, pure Nightmare Fuel there.
  • Base Breaker: A recent strip references the popular My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic series. Some of the base is "Alright! Welcome to the herd, Jo!" and the others are "Seriously? This is one of the last pony-free places on the Internet! Not you too!". And those are the milder comments. You can read the rest here.
  • Epileptic Trees: Just how does the dispenser heal someone?
  • Gannon Banned: Referred to Link from The Legend of Zelda as Zelda in this strip, sparking incendiary comments.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • One of the rants Jo attaches to his strips had him trying to convince people that the Wii would be Nintendo's last home console. Barely a day later, many sources started claiming that Nintendo would be unveiling their new console at that E3 2011.
    • Cast your eyes on this comic, which was released about a day or two after the Uber Update. Now, have a look at one specific item that Valve added into Team Fortress 2 on the first of July, about a week after the Uber Update.
  • Ho Yay:
  • Jumping the Shark: Some feel this way about the purple tentacle and dialog driven comics.
  • Moe: Oh so very, very much.
  • Memetic Mutation: Every comic will have at least one person put a "spy here!" photo note on it, and anything with a female will have a photo note that lays claim to the female (or just part of their body). Lines from the Meet the Team videos are also commonplace, and to a lesser extent, "Nerf Now, now with more trope.". Lampshaded by the author in this strip.
  • Older Than They Think: Jopiera borrows the TF2-tan style from another artist, who in turn borrowed from Japanese doujinshi.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • The "She was just level one" story arc.
    • A bit less severe, but Drone-tan's hive cluster being annihilated by Terran forces.
    • Sniper-tan and Pyro's relationship unraveling.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks: The author's reaction when 2K studios announced a FPS sequel to the X-COM series.
