Monty Oum
I believe that the human spirit is indomitable. If you endeavor to achieve, it will happen given enough resolve. It may not be immediate, and often your greater dreams is something you will not achieve within your own lifetime. The effort you put forth to anything transcends yourself, for there is no futility even in death.—Monty Oum
Monty Oum was, among other things, a self-taught 3D animator[1] whose education was entirely observational. Responsible for some of the most awesome Web Animation around, most of which relies on Rule of Cool.
Best known for Haloid and Dead Fantasy, though those weren't his first releases. Also known for his work on Red vs. Blue, for which he worked tirelessly to make Tex even more awesome than previously thought possible. In 2012 he began work on a project that became the much-heralded RWBY. In between his movies, he had been working on an adaptation of Hatsune Miku for MUGEN and was looking for testers.
Worked briefly as a combat designer for Midway and Namco Bandai, and was employed at Rooster Teeth Productions. His long-term goal, aside from making movies for his fans, was to make the most awesome fighting game ever. Sadly, on February 1, 2015, Monty passed away due to a freak allergic reaction.
Has a video list over at GameTrailers. And a Deviant ART gallery. And a YouTube channel.
