Metroid: Other M/Trivia
- Executive Meddling/Prima Donna Director: Beyond the below part, Sakamoto was not a particularly good director to work with. He was responsible for the whole story and nearly every aspect of production, with Team Ninja only doing the grunt work. The Wii Remote-only scheme was not only his idea, but actively insisted that this scheme was to be used exclusively, which was frequently questioned by Team Ninja employees who wanted a Nunchuk. He even noticed problems with the control scheme, but kept it anyway. There was also one part where he forced the composer to make a piano piece... in a matter of a day. He was also responsible for the American localization, directing the voice actors despite not being a native English speaker.
- Funny Character, Boring Actor: Inverted with Samus's VA Jessica Martin, who seems pretty energetic in interviews and willing to reach out to fans, despite her admitted unfamiliarity with the series beforehand. It helped that Samus's infamously dull voice was more a result of Executive Meddling on Sakamoto's part, as a poor attempt to make her sound like a Shell-Shocked Veteran. Her surprisingly good rendition of Auld Lang Syne displays how much talent was wasted perfectly.
- Hey, It's That Guy!: Entirely by coincidence, Adam, and to a certain extent Lyle Smithsonian happen to strongly resemble Chris Cooper.
- Hey, It's That Voice!: In the Japanese version of Metroid: Other M, Samus is voiced by Ai Kobayashi, who also voiced Deunan Knute in the Appleseed movies. This is also counts as funny at first sight, since Deunan and Samus share similar backgrounds and similar screwed-up pasts. Adam Malkovich is voiced by Rikiya Koyama, who voiced Yamato in Naruto.
- The Federation Colonel is Greil, from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.
- That's Stephen Weyte. He's better known as Caleb in Blood.

- I Knew It!: Did anyone really believe that Ridley was dead for good?
- What Could Have Been: Jennifer Hale tried out for the part of Samus, but was turned down. Why anyone thought that was a good idea to turn her down is still a mystery.
