Meg's Family Series

Meg's Family Series are two fanfics written by Malcolm Fox: Meg's boyfriend and Meg's Family. It's actually one of the most acclaimed stories in the Family Guy fan fiction community.

Tropes used in Meg's Family Series include:

• Abusive Parents: Zack's dad can give flanderized Peter and Lois a run for their money.
• Anti-Sue: Meg is a borderline example of this: her Butt Monkey status is taken to the extreme, she has zero self steem, no talents nor abilities and is prone to Wangst
• Arch Enemy: Maddie and Olvia. After the latter pulled a Heel Face Turn, Eliza replaced her. Also, Zack has Lobster, the giant fighting lobster.
• Artifact Title: At some point, Meg and Zack get married, and thus Zack isn't Meg's boyfriend anymore, but her husband. Averted in the sequel.
• A Day in the Limelight: Brian in "She's a Mad Dog", Jillian in "Jillian the Genius", Mrs. Lockhart in "Meg's Breast Friend" and Quagmire in "The Man Who Lost his Giggity"
• Affectionate Parody: In a similer vein of Blue Harvest, Zack retells The Wizard of Oz
• All Just a Dream: "The Mandatory Zombie Chapter"
• Ascended Extra: Many, most notabily Jillian, Mrs. Lockhart, Ollivia Fuller...
• Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Maddie in the aptly titled "Attack of the 50 foot Toddler"
• Beta Couple: Chris and Jillian
• Better Than It Sounds: the above mentioned Chris/Jillian pairing.
• Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Stripes.
• Blondes Are Evil: Maddie, although Your Mileage May Vary
• Butt Monkey: for a nice-to-Meg fanfic, Meg still gets a lot of crap. Also, you can tell that the author greatly dislikes Peter.
• Cats Are Mean: Stripes again.
• Crossover: Chapter 31, with The Spellbook.
• Crowning Moment of Awesome: lots of them.
• Crowning Moment of Heartwarming: the end of "Time Stew"
• Deadpan Snarker: Zack is made of this
• Demoted to Extra: Of all the six main characters, Brian has the less Character Focus. Oddly, the author stated that he likes Brian, even better than other characters that he dislikes, but have much more screentime.
• Flanderization:
  • Zack is the most prominent example. At first, he was a smart, if a bit dim witted Deadpan Snarker who was at odds with Peter. However, somehwere in the sequel, his character revolved around his feud with Peter (and his IQ also dropped severeal points)
  • After getting some Character Development, Tilly became a Mad Scientist Brainy Baby with awful social skills. However, her character began to fade into simply providing the invention of the week that would serve as plot device. Fortunately, both Tilly and Zack were revised in later chapters.
• Five-Bad Band: Some of the family's enemies, powered by Lucifer:
  • The Big Bad: Lucifer
  • The Dragon: Connie D'Amico
  • The Evil Genius: Neil Goldman and Corvette
  • The Brute: Lobster, and later also Ernie the Chicken
  • The Dark Chick: Eliza Pinchley
  • The Load: James Woods
• Floating Timeline
• Freaky Friday Flip: In the aptly titled "Brain Swap", Peter and Zack switch bodies, much to Zack's horror.
• Future Badass: played straight with Maddie, subverted with Stewie.
• The Generic Guy: Tilly and CJ during Meg's boyfriend. In Meg's family they finally got some Character Development
• Granola Girl: Valarie
• Growing the Beard: "Jillian the Genius" marked the end of the mediocre chapters following the fanmail.
• Heel Face Turn: Olivia in the eighth chapter of Family.
  • Also Lucifer.
• Heroic BSOD: Zack at the end of "Sex Lies and Rock".
• Hot Mom: Valarie, Jillian, and Meg
• Identical Grandson: Averted with Maddie, played straight with Tilly and CJ.
• Insane Troll Logic: In 'Swiss Family Griffins', a sleazy salesmen convinces Peter to buy a flamethrower so if the house ever catches fire, he can 'fight fire with fire'.
• Les Yay: Olivia is pretty much in love with Maddie.
• Likes Older Women: Chris
• Loads and Loads of Characters: the author uses almost every Family Guy character who ever appeared, as well as a good bunch of Original Characters.
• Luke, I Am Your Father: Lucifer is Zack's biological dad. not that it wasn't blatantly hinted.
• Make Wrong What Once Went Right: In "Time Stew", Stewie goes back in time and prevents Meg from meeting Zack, erasing the event that triggered the whole story.
• New Age Retro Hippie: Valarie
• Not-So-Imaginary Friend: the Boogeyman
• Running Gag: Several, the most common being Adam West forgetting Maddie's name and Olivia's lesbian crush on Maddie.
• Official Couple: Meg and Zack
• Parody Sue: The aptly named Mary Sue.

Stewie:She's Mary Sue. And apparently she's also my best friend, girlfriend, first kiss, she saved my life, had a Disney Death, is smarter than me, has great sex, is The Chosen One, can solve everything, and is also my long lost sister!

• Time Travel: "Time Stew"
• Villain Team-Up: During the second part of "Mighty Murdocks". See Five-Bad Band above.
• Universal Adaptor Cast: In a similar vein to Blue Harvest, the The Wizard of Oz parody also features almost every prominent character (Meg as Dorothy, Brian as Toto, Zack as the Scarecrow, Peter as the Tinman, Chris as the Lion, Lois as the Wicked Witch, Jillian as the Good Witch, and Stewie and other kids as munchkins)
• Zombie Apocalypse: "The Mandatory Zombie Chapter"
