Man of Steel/Trivia

• Fake Nationality: Henry Cavill, the British guy who's playing Superman, is actually the first non-American person to play the character. This hardly matters, in a way, given that Supes is an alien.
• He Also Did: The show's staff is certainly experienced in comicbook film adaptations:
  • Zack Snyder directed the film adaptations of 300 and Watchmen.
  • Christopher Nolan wrote/produced/directed The Dark Knight Saga.
  • David S. Goyer assisted with the former project, also writing the scripts for the Ghost Rider movie and the Blade Trilogy.
• Hey, It's That Guy!: People will probably recognize Zodd as the bad guy from Superman II. As for actual cast members, they are as follows:
  • Superman is Victoria Forrester's former boyfriend.
  • Jor-El, Superman's father, is played by Russell Crowe.
  • Lois Lane is Princess Giselle, Julie Powell and Charlene.
  • Jonathan Kent is Mr. Brooks. Alternatively, he's Elliot Ness.
  • Martha Kent is Penny Chenery.
  • Perry White is Morpheus.
  • General Swanwick is Commander Lock.
  • Zod is Agent Van Alden.
• What Could Have Been: A number of reboot ideas were thought up between Superman IV: The Quest For Peace and Superman Returns, including one with Tim Burton involved. It has yet to be seen if any will be integrated with this film.
  • Henry Cavill was almost cast as Superman for Superman Returns, even getting down to the last two. And he was even cast in 2004 before the project was redesigned.
