The Movie
- Kisaragi's gradual transformation into an Abyssal. Her memory loss and listlessness is at first attributed to exhaustion from her sinking and her rescue from an Abyssal "egg", but then corruption starts to creep over her skin...
- The realm(?) at the bottom of Ironbottom Sound. It's already a mass graveyard of ships in Real Life, where many of the main characters' ship counterparts sank in World War II (including Fubuki, Yuudachi, Hiei, and Kirishima), and then there's the confrontation between Fubuki and the Abyssal shadow of herself.
- Fubuki and the Abyssal "face off" as they speak, revisiting scenes from the anime, but with the Abyssal in Fubuki's shadow, or her reflection, or standing on the ceiling behind her, while the rest of the scene is faded and discolored.
- Later, when Abyssal Fubuki is trying to break Fubuki's spirit, Fubuki sees ship girls' bodies or "shades" sink, shift into their ships' hulls, and then dissolve into rust, as their last words are whispered in the background. It's not just whole bodies, either -- there are dismembered limbs falling amidst the wreckage!
- Finally, Fubuki is trapped in an Abyssal egg, bound by dark energy and forcibly corrupted. Fortunately, the power of hope wins out.
