Grim Fandango/Trivia
- Acclaimed Flop: The game was extremely well received and still has a large following, but it was complete flop in terms of sales and it partially convinced LucasArts that adventure games were a bygone genre.
- It did get a second chance at success by way of Disney and Sony in 2015, and appears to have done well enough to merit a second LucasArts Updated Re-release, this time of Day of the Tentacle.
- Doing It for the Art: Remastering the game for modern computers wasn't an easy task because no one thought to preserve the original source material in its entirety. The team responsible for the remastering had to cobble together what they could by going through LucasArts' archives, tracking down original team members who took bits home as souvenirs, and even obtaining modders' homemade code. All that hard work paid off to create a well-received update.
- DVD Commentary: The Remastered version contains "commentary nodes" similar to games by Valve Software, where the player can hear Tim Schafer and company discussing the history and inspirations for the game.
- Hey, It's That Voice!: Manny is Ugly Betty's dad!
- Ensign Arnold at the beginning of Year 3 is none other than Raphael Sbarge a.k.a. Kaiden Alenko/Carth Onasi.
- Kay E. Kuter is Dockmaster Velasco.
- Glottis is the Milkman.
- Meche is Hawk Girl.
- Nick Virago is Sergeant Patrick Harper.
- Pugsy is Spinelli!
- Promoted Fanboy: Tobias Pfaff, a fan who modded the option for a point-and-click interface into the original game, was later asked to come to Double Fine, who wanted his permission to use his coding in the Remastered version.
- What Could Have Been: In Year 1 at El Marrow, Manny was originally supposed to meet a giant woman wearing a giraffe mask. Also, he originally had to return to El Marrow after meeting Glottis in the Petrified Forest to retrieve the Bone Wagon, which was now being used to deliver pizza.
