God, the Devil and Bob/YMMV

  • Acceptable Targets: When the Devil abandons his job and removes evil from the world, God asks Bob to talk him out of it so people's decisions can continue to have moral weight.

Bob: Gee, I don't know that I'm all that comfortable with the idea of going to Hell.

God: Oh, for Pete's sake, you've been to Branson, Missouri, it's not that different!

  • Crowning Moment of Heartwarming: The ending of "Bob's Father".
  • Evil Is Cool: The Devil (although this is often subverted--whiny and petulant is rarely cool).
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: While the show did not do good in the United States, it was well received overseas.
  • Ho Yay: The episode where the Devil doesn't feel appreciated by God is played out like an old married couple going through relationship counseling.
    • Smeck and the Devil, on occasions.
  • Too Good to Last: As mentioned on the main page, it only aired three of thirteen episodes in its original run, though it eventually made it to a DVD release and airings on Adult Swim.
