  • Ho Yay: In a film positively awash in canon homoeroticism, Bennett and Judd tread the fine line between canon and subtext. Judd appears to be one of the last holdouts on campus when it comes to Bennett's penchant for seduction, and Bennett tries to catch him with his guard down quite a few times. Judd never acquiesces, preferring his books and idealism to sex, but that doesn't keep them from being remarkably intense with one another, what with the endless late-night meetings and held gazes and anguished hurt/comfort moments. In fact, they arguably have more chemistry than Bennett does with James, his canon love interest.
