Another Country/Heartwarming

  • Judd and Bennett's entire friendship is made of this. The two of them are both outcasts of a sort (Bennett is popular but suffers because of his open attraction to boys, and Judd is the school eccentric and sees himself as a joke whose only useful capacity is to win some respect for his communist beliefs). They both spend the better part of the film believing that the other is only going through a passing phase, but when the stakes are raised and they are forced to accept that neither of them will ever truly be "normal", they both rise to the occasion and accept each other unconditionally.
