Andraste/YMMV

- Radiance: Is she a self-centered, attention-grabbing control freak, or a sympathetic, hopeless romantic who wants to see her loved ones happy?
- Elvin: Is he just someone who has lots of bad luck and suffers from entirely understandable feelings of worthlessness, or a self-pitying martyr who revels in his misery?
- Is Empress Sarai a sociopathic murderer or a poor, young woman being controlled by magic she never understood and took with best intentions in mind?
- Is Syok a neglectful father and sociopathic murderer who abuses his powers to achieve his personal goals, or is he a genuninely good man, whose become so cold after fighting in a war, losing his son, and several wives that he just doesn't know how to show his softer side anymore?

- There's a sorceress out there, and if you make her mad, she can turn you into any animal she wants.
- Empress Sarai is a sadistic vampire, who can also control your every move. She's also probably insane.
- Elvin's stepmother can feel a person's every fear, and possibly see all their memories, too.
- Queen Rhiannon. She's beautiful, brilliant, gracious, and pure. Oh, and she probably tortures children.
- There's a prophecy, saying that you can save kingdoms from a horrible dictator. Sadly, that prophecy is just a lie to boost your country's morale. Really the people you're protecting have lied to you. Oh, and your new-found friend? It's likely your parents tortured him.
- Tear Jerker: Clare dies.
- It's made sadder by the fact that Elvin named Adair/his sword after her.
- It's also the first time that you really see just how broken he's really become.
- As Adair is dying, he tells Elvin not to save him, knowing that it'd probably kill the latter. Instead, he refuses to let Elvin help him, gives him his sword, and jokes as he's dying.
- After Elvin's first battle, during which Sarai nearly kills him Elvin literally breaks down into a sobbing wreck while talking to Andraste.
- It's made sadder by the fact that Elvin named Adair/his sword after her.
