• Doing It for the Art:
  • The 4599 separate lines for just the skirmish AI (found in Age of Empires III/Sound/Chats directory) seems to be quite a testament to this.
  • The sheer number of languages spoken by the units in the game. The major civilizations account for 14 different languages, the minor Native Americans account for another 16 languages and the mercenaries account for another handful, even though only one or two units will ever speak the languages. Some of these languages (e.g. Early Modern English (British); Japanese and Mandarin (Chinese)) even have different regional pronunciations when used by different units.
• Fan Nickname: Within the game community Amelia Black is named after one of the most powerful artillery units in the game, The Heavy Cannon, due to the large blast radius of her special attack on enemy troops.
• Hey, It's That Voice!:
  • Morgan Black is voiced by James Lancaster, a.k.a. Father Byles.
  • His grandson John is voiced by Michael Bell, also known as Julius Caesar and Sgt. Pavlov.
  • Stuart Black and Sahin the Falcon are voiced by Brian George, who also voiced the Professor Ramesh.
  • Lizzie is voiced by Jennifer "Phoenix" Hale.
  • Bettina Bush voices Nonakhee. She also voiced Gloria and Olivia.
  • James Hordan voices Cooper. He also voiced Boromir.
  • Alain Magnan is voiced by Richard Doyle, who also voiced Nobunaga Oda and went on to voice Big Boss.
  • Warwick was voiced by Neil Dickson, who also voiced Locke.
  • George Washington and Pierre Beaumont were voiced by Daniel Riordan, who previously voiced Arkantos.
  • Gregg Berger voices Frederick The Great, the Dutch AI.
  • Andre Sogliuzzo (Bartholomew Estheim, Arclight, Sparx, Cortez) voices Napoleon Bonaparte, the French AI. He also voiced Bonaparte in Psychonauts.
  • April Stewart voices Queen Isabella, the Spanish AI.
  • Fred Tatasciore is the voice of Ivan the Terrible, the Russian AI.
  • Tasia Valenza (Poison Ivy, Ultimecia, Spider-Woman, Sniper Wolf) is the voice of Amelia Black.
