The Gallant Seventh

The Gallant Seventh is a march composed by John Philip Sousa in 1922. It was composed in honor of the 7th Regiment of the New York National Guard and its band leader Francis W. Sutherland, who had been a student of Sousa's.[1]

It is the only one of all Sousa marches that has two breakstrains, following pattern IAABBCDCEC(EC).
