Early life

Largan was born in Manchester, and was educated at Philips High School and the University of Manchester.[1][2] As a student he worked on the fish counter at Asda.[2]

Career

After university, Largan moved to London and trained to become a chartered accountant. He was a Conservative councillor in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, and worked as a parliamentary assistant to the Conservative MP for Chelsea and Fulham, Greg Hands.[2]

Before being elected Member of Parliament for High Peak, Largan unsuccessfully contested the Bury South constituency for the Conservatives in the June 2017 General Election. Robert then applied to be the Conservative Parliamentary candidate in Crewe and Nantwich in September 2018, before he was selected as the Conservative Parliamentary candidate in High Peak the following month.[3]

He was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for High Peak in the 2019 general election.[4] This was a key marginal seat that had been taken by Labour at the previous general election.
