History

Opening on 27 November 1973, the centre held extravagant opening celebrations, including Santa Claus arriving in the world's largest hot air balloon of the time, as well as a performance by John Farnham.[4] Originally containing 59 stores within a 3 wing Y shaped building, including a Coles New World and 1200 car park spaces, the centre has had numerous redevelopments over the years, involving the reconfiguration of malls, the addition of Big W and Kmart stores, as well as more car parking and a new front facade. The most recent development occurred in 2007, which involved extending the Safeway and built a new entrance allowing access to the food court.
