ONE Party

The ONE Party is a Christian fundamentalist political party in New Zealand. It is led by Edward Shanly and the anti-synthetic drugs activist Stephanie Harawira. The party argues that New Zealand is a Christian nation, and should be run as such.[2] It opposes abortion and euthanasia.[3]

2020 election

The party received a broadcasting allocation of $41,457 for the 2020 election, contingent on achieving registration.[5] It applied for registration on 5 June 2020[1] and the registration was accepted on 9 July.[6]

The party held its launch at Rangihoua Bay on 27 June 2020.[7][8] It intends to run 20 candidates in both general and Māori electorates.[9] The party has an arrangement with Vision NZ not to run a candidate in Waiariki in exchange for Vision not running a candidate in Te Tai Tokerau. It encourages supporters in electorates where it is not running a candidate to abstain from the electorate vote.[2]
