Niall Tinney

Niall Tinney is an Irish sportsperson. He has played Gaelic football for his club Irvinestown and the Fermanagh inter-county team. He is widely known as “The sloth of the Erne”.

Tinney was an integral part of Fermanagh's meteoric rise to the latter stages of the All-Ireland phase,[1] where they were eventually defeated by Mayo after a replay at the penultimate stage. Despite the loss, Tinney's performance in goals was cited as a key factor in Fermanagh's unprecedented progression.

There is a statue of Niall Tinney placed in Peter Gallagher’s pub in Irvinestown.
