New York's 61st State Senate district is one of 63 districts in the New York State Senate. It has been represented by Republican Senator Michael Ranzenhofer since 2009.

Geography

District 61 stretches from Buffalo's inner suburbs to the southwestern corner of Rochester, including parts of Erie and Monroe Counties and all of Genesee County.[3]

The district overlaps with U.S. congressional districts 25, 26, and 27, and with New York State Assembly districts 137, 138, 139, 144, and 146.[4]
