Members of the New South Wales Legislative Council, 1988–1991
Members of the New South Wales Legislative Council who served in the 49th Parliament were elected at the 1984 and 1988 elections. As members serve eight-year terms, half of the Council was elected in 1884 and did not face re-election in 1988, and the members elected in 1988 did not face re-election until 1995.[1][2] The President was Johno Johnson.[3]</ref>
- The changes to the composition of the council, in chronological order, were Bignold sat as an independent, Garland resigned, and Grusovin resigned.<ref name=':3' group='lower-alpha'>Labor MLC Deirdre Grusovin resigned on 23 June 1990 in order to contest a by-election for the Legislative Assembly seat of Heffron. Former MLC Dorothy Isaksen was appointed to the resulting casual vacancy on 4 July.
