Lyodra Ginting

Lyodra Margaretha Ginting, known by her stage name Lyodra is an Indonesian singer. She is known as winner the tenth season of Indonesian Idol, broadcast by the national television channels RCTI in 2019–2020.[3]

Life and career

Lyodra was born with the name Lyodra Margaretha Ginting on June 21, 2003. Lyodra was the first child of two siblings, from the couple Simar Ginting and Natalia Johana Beru Tarigan. In 2014, Lyodra began her singing career by joining the Kirana Semen event. Furthermore, she also participated in Indonesia Mencari Bakat 4 contest and became a finalist who occupies the 6th position. Lyodra's singing talent was first discovered by Erwin Gutawa and Gita Gutawa, where in the same year they included Lyodra in Di Atas Rata-Rata 2 project (DARR 2) [4] which is a collection of musical gifted children. Her participation in the program brought Lyodra to appear at various national music events. As in the 2016 Java Jazz Festival music event, Lyodra also became one of the singers who filled the event. She and the DARR 2 team also performed at the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2016, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.[5] In 2017 Lyodra began her international singing career by taking part in the 2017 Sanremo Junior Festival competition in Sanremo, Italy. In the competition held on May 3, 2017, Lyodra performed the song "Dear Dream" by Gita Gutawa and managed to become the first champion to defeat 22 other participants from 18 countries.[6] Furthermore, in 2019, at the age of 16, Lyodra participated in the Indonesian Idol. And on March 2, 2020, she was crowned the winner, defeating Tiara Andini.[7]
