He is known to have written and recorded material that has never been officially released.[lower-alpha 1] Prior to the release of "What Do You Mean?", American radio personality Elvis Duran touched on the topic on Entertainment Tonight: "You know Justin handed me his phone and showed me over 400 songs that he has recorded, that no one has heard."[1]
