As of February 2017, seven former lieutenant governors of Nebraska who are currently living at this time. The most recent to die was Philip C. Sorensen (1965–1967) on February 12, 2017.[1] The most recently serving lieutenant governor to die was William E. Nichol (1987–1991) on November 29, 2006.
