List of Horrible Histories cast members

This is a list of actors who have appeared in the BBC children's series Horrible Histories, its 2015 reboot, and game show spin off, Horrible Histories: Gory Games. They are based on the popular British book series of the same name by Terry Deary.

Across the programme's ten-year run, dozens of British actors and actresses have appeared. The show initially consisted of seven main actors; Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Sarah Hadland, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard, and Ben Willbond. Hadland left the show as a regular after the first series though continued make intermittent appearances after that. The remaining six headed up the first five seasons and went on to form a comedy troupe producing their own sitcoms; Yonderland and Ghosts, as well as the feature film Bill. In addition to the six main actors, a large supporting cast filled many of the other roles. Most prominently Lawry Lewin, Alice Lowe, and Dominique Moore appear frequently throughout the run.

After the fifth series ended the main six ceased to appear on the show. The rebooted series featured largely new cast while some supporting actors from previous seasons were promoted to main cast (including Jalaal Hartley and Jessica Ransom). In addition several well known British comedians have made guest appearances on the show, including Meera Syal, Al Murray, and David Baddiel. The show is always been presented (with the exception of one episode) by Rattus Rattus, a puppet rat voiced and operated by John Eccleston. Jon Culshaw and Jess Robinson, provide additional voices in most episodes. Several child actors appear across the series however, with the exception of Bertie Gilbert, they all remain uncredited until the fifth series.
