Ko je (song)

"Ko je" (pronounced [kô jê];[1][2] transl. "Who Is It") is a single by Slovenian singer and songwriter Senidah. The single was released on 12 May 2020.[3] Sonically, it is a departure from trap and dancehall sound of her previous singles, incorporating strings and folk vocals.

Background and release

In late February, media started rumours about alleged collaboration between Senidah and Bosnian musician Dino Merlin, claiming they shot the music video in Istanbul, Turkey.[4][5] However, Senidah denied the rumours at 2020 Music Awards Ceremony and on one of her Instagram Lives.

On 6 May, Senidah posted the cover art on her Instagram account, captioning it simply with "•next•".[6] Day before the release, on 11 May, she posted a snippet of the music video, announcing the release.[7] Several hours before the music video premiere, she posted a still from the video.[8]

Music video

The music video was released alongside the song.[9] It was directed and produced by Senidah herself. It was shot in black and white technique[10] and depicts the artist wandering at night through the deserted streets (due to the COVID-19 pandemic) of Ljubljana, Slovenia, riding a motorcycle and demolishing a car.
