Kifri

Kifri (Turkish: Kifrı; Kurdish: کفری ,Kifrî[1][2]; Arabic: كفري[3]) is a town in Iraq and the seat of Kifri District, in the north of the Diyala Governorate. In the 1947 census, 70% of the population was Kurdish.[4] The town is part of the Disputed areas of North Iraq and controlled by Kurdistan Region.[5] A significant Iraqi Turkmens population is present as well.[6]
