KIQI
KIQI (1010 AM, "Radio Unica") is a Spanish-language radio station in San Francisco, California. It is owned by Multicultural Broadcasting. KIQI 1010 AM is repeated on KATD 990 AM in the Sacramento Valley. KIQI 1010 AM is now partnered with the Oakland Athletics and broadcasts night and weekend home games.[2]

The station's studios are located near the Civic Center in San Francisco, while the transmitter is at the Bay Bridge toll plaza in Emeryville.
1010 AM is a Canadian clear-channel frequency, on which CFRB in Toronto, Ontario and CBR in Calgary, Alberta are the Class A dominant stations. KIQI must protect the nighttime skywave signals of the Class A stations by either reducing power, biasing its signal, or both.
History
This station first received its construction permit in 1950. During construction, it was assigned KPOO, and then KRUZ, before settling on KSAY on January 5, 1957.[3] On October 24, 1957, KSAY signed on.[1]
In 1974, KSAY was sold to Peninsula FM, a broadcast company headed by radio entrepreneur James Gabbert, which also owned KIOI at the time of acquisition. Upon its closure, the station's callsign was changed to the current KIQI, and flipped to oldies. By 1980, it would change languages to Spanish.
In 1993, KIQI began simulcasting on KATD. Both stations were acquired by Multicultural Broadcasting in 2003.
