José Luis Morales Nogales

José Luis Morales Nogales (Spanish pronunciation: [xoˈse lwis moˈɾales]; born 23 July 1987) is a Spanish footballer who plays for and captains Levante UD as a left winger.

Club career

Born in Madrid, Morales only played amateur football well into his 20s. At "10 or 11 years of age", he had unsuccessful trials with Real Madrid.[2] On 1 July 2011 he signed a contract with Levante UD, being assigned to the B-team in Tercera División[3] and promoting in his first season, with the player contributing with 14 goals in 41 matches.

On 17 April 2013, Morales agreed to a new two-year deal with Levante, and was promoted to the main squad.[4] On 30 July, he was loaned to SD Eibar of Segunda División.[5]

Morales played his first game as a professional on 18 August 2013, starting in a 2–1 away win against Real Jaén.[6] He scored his first professional goal on 27 October, netting the second in a 2–0 victory at FC Barcelona B also for the second level championship.[7]

Morales made his La Liga debut on 30 August 2014, starting in a 0–3 away loss to Athletic Bilbao.[8] He scored his first goal in the competition on 4 October, contributing to a 3–3 draw at former club Eibar.[9]

On 29 May 2015, Morales renewed his contract with the Valencians, signing until 2019.[10] He scored 12 goals in the 2018–19 campaign, adding five assists for the 15th-placed team.[11]
