Biography

He was born in 1956 and educated at Queen's University Belfast where he took a degree in history. He also holds a diploma in business studies from the LSE and a BTh in theology and biblical studies from TCD. He pursued a career in business before being ordained in 1997.[1][2]

After a curacy in County Antrim he held incumbencies in Ballyrashane and Belfast where was rector of St. Mark's Dundela.[3]

He was appointed Bishop of Clogher by the House of Bishops on 30 May 2011; and consecrated on 23 September that year.[4]

He was elected Church of Ireland Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland in 2020 and took up his role on 28 April of that year.[5]
