John Bani

Father John Bennett Bani (born July 1, 1941) was a Vanuatuan politician who was the President and head of state of Vanuatu from 25 March 1999 to 24 March 2004.[1]

Biography

His term expired in 2004.[2] He is an Anglican priest from Pentecost Island, and is one of the founders of the Cultural Association which later become the Vanua'aku Pati. He is a nationalist and "a man of Christian principles".
