Production

The boat was the first design constructed by Hunter Marine in the United States and was built between 1972 and 1983.[1][7]

Design

The Hunter 25 is a small recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass. It has a masthead sloop rig, an internally-mounted spade-type rudder and a fixed fin keel. It displaces 3,850 lb (1,746 kg) and carries 1,800 lb (816 kg) of ballast.[1][2]

The boat has a draft of 3.92 ft (1.19 m) with the standard keel and 2.92 ft (0.89 m) with the optional shoal draft keel.[1][8]

The boat is normally fitted with a small outboard motor for docking and maneuvering.[1]

The boat has a PHRF racing average handicap of 240. It has a hull speed of 6.02 kn (11.15 km/h).[2]

A "box top" version was also produced.[9]
