Henrietta H. Fore

Henrietta Holsman Fore (born September 12, 1948) is an American government official who serves as the Executive Director of UNICEF, and formerly serves Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Holsman International, a manufacturing and investment company.

Early life and education

Fore was born in Chicago, Illinois.[1]

Fore earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Wellesley College and received a Master of Public Administration from the University of Northern Colorado.[2]

Career

Fore served as Global Co-Chair of Asia Society and as Chair of the Middle East Investment Initiative from 2011-2017.[3] Fore is a Trustee of the Aspen Institute and the Center for Strategic and International Studies.[4] She also serves on the Boards of the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy, Center for Global Development, and Initiative for Global Development.[5] She is a member of the American Academy of Diplomacy, American Leadership for a WaterSecure World Campaign Cabinet, Chief Executives Organization, Committee of 200, Council on Foreign Relations, Economic Club of New York, International Women's Forum, Wellesley College Business Leadership Council, WomenCorporateDirectors, and YPO/WPO.

From 2005 to 2018, Fore served as Co-Chair of WomenCorporateDirectors. From 2007 to 2009, Fore served as the Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and Director of United States Foreign Assistance, holding the equivalent rank as Deputy Secretary of State.[6] She served on the Boards of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation. Fore received the Distinguished Service Award in 2009, the highest award the United States Secretary of State can bestow.[7]

From 2005 to 2007, Fore served as Under Secretary of State for Management, the Chief Operating Officer for the United States Department of State.[8]

Fore served as the 37th Director of the United States Mint in the U.S. Department of Treasury from 2001 to 2005 serving Secretary of Treasury, Paul H. O'Neill and Secretary of Treasury John W. Snow.[9]
