Head of a Young Woman

Head of a Young Woman is a painting by Pablo Picasso.[1] It belonged to Jaime Botín, a billionaire Spanish banker.[1] On September 12, 2017, the judge Enrique Presa sent Botín to jail, fined him 133 million and confiscated the painting.[2] Apparently, Botín had tried to smuggle it into Corsica, France to later sell it in Geneva, Switzerland, thereby violating the non-exportability status that the Spanish Government had granted the painting.[2] Ownership of the painting was transferred to the Kingdom of Spain by court order. The painting is now located at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía.[3][4]
