Gus Miller

W. A. "Gus" Miller was an American football and basketball coach. He served as the head football coach at West Texas State Teachers College—now known as West Texas A&M University—from 1942 to 1946, compiling a record of 16–15. Miller was also the head basketball coach at West Texas State from 1942 to 1957, talking a mark of 197–137. His basketball teams won three Border Conference championships and made an appearance in the 1955 NCAA Basketball Tournament.[1]

Notes
  1. Miller resigned after the first seven games of the 1946 season. Windy Nicklaus replaced Miller as head coach and led West Texas State to a record of 2–1 over the final three games of the season. The team finished 5–5 overall and 4–5 in Border Conference play, placing fifth.
