Fable (upcoming video game)

Development

In a 2017 reply to a now-deleted question, Phil Spencer said on Twitter that the franchise had "a lot of places it could go".[2]

In early 2018, Eurogamer reported that a fourth Fable game had started development, with video game studio Playground Games tasked by Microsoft to develop the game.[3] Forbes reported on a video was leaked ahead of E3 2019 and it pertained to Fable by Playground Games.[4][5]

In September 2018, it was reported that Playground Games was hiring 177 positions for an open world RPG via Linkedin.[6][7]

In July 2020, the game was announced at the Xbox Games Showcase and described as a "new beginning" for the series.[8][9][10]
