History

ERT announced that it had reached an agreement with private music channel MAD TV to take on the organization and production of a national final to select a song to represent Greece in the contest.[1] Additionally, MAD TV will also handle all related preparations associated with the contest.[1] ERT stated that it had taken this decision, after reaching out to record labels and failing to secure a deal with them as in previous years. Additionally, this marks the first time in Greece's participation that ERT outsourced the organization of the national final to a private channel.[2] The Eurosong 2014 was broadcast by DT, but the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, was broadcast by NERIT, due to the opening of the broadcaster at May 4, 2014. Also, Eurosong is the succeeded pre-selection for Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest, which replaced the Ellinikós Telikós. However, since 2017, Ellinikós Telikós has become, once again, the national selection of Greece, succeeding Eurosong.
