Dey Chopan District
Dey Chopan, also spelled as Daichopan (Persian: دای چوپان ), is the northern most district in Zabul Province of Afghanistan. Historically this district belong to Hazaras which was occupied by Abdur Rahman Khan in 19th century. It has a population of about 38,300 as of 2013.[1]
The district main ethnic groups are the Dai Chopan tribe of Hazaras and the Tokhi tribe of Ghilji Pashtuns.[2] Its economy is completely dependent on almonds raised as a cash crop.
