Club career

Dumfries left amateur side Barendrecht for Sparta Rotterdam in 2014[1] and made his professional debut on 20 February 2015 against FC Emmen. With Sparta, Dumfries won promotion to the Eredivisie in 2016 and he won the Eerste Divisie Talent of the Year Award that same year.[2]

In summer 2017, he joined Heerenveen to replace Belgium-bound Stefano Marzo.[3]

In June 2018 Dumfries signed a five-year contract for PSV Eindhoven replacing Joshua Brenet and Santiago Arias.[4]

International career

While still at Barendrecht, Dumfries received a call-up to play for the Aruba national football team and made his debut in a March 2014 friendly match against Guam. He scored a goal against the same opposition in their second encounter a few days later.[5]

Dumfries earned his first full international call up when Ronald Koeman named him in the Netherlands squad in October 2018.[6] He played his first international match against Germany on 13 October.
