Denton High School

Denton High School is a public high school located in the city of Denton, Texas and classified as a 5A school by the UIL. It is a part of the Denton Independent School District located in central Denton County and was the original high school for Denton.

Denton High School was established in 1884. In 1910 it moved to what is now Calhoun Middle School. In 1957 it moved again to its current location on Fulton Street. In the 1990s, DHS yielded grades 10-12 to the newly opened Ryan High School until 1995. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.[3]

Lowry Woods Apartments, the designated family housing unit of Texas Woman's University,[4] is zoned to Denton High School.[5][6]
