Cadillac Lyriq

Cadillac Lyriq is the name of an upcoming electric crossover to be produced by Cadillac,[1] a division of the automotive conglomerate General Motors (GM). It is to be the second GM electric vehicle (EV) sold in North America, after the Chevrolet Bolt. It was scheduled to be revealed in full to the public on April 2, 2020, though the unveiling was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak[2][3] to August 6, 2020.[4] This car is Cadillac's first fully electic car and also it's introduced new technology, a new design style, park and unpark itself, and drive in a freeway without the driver steering the wheel.[5]

GM has several EV models produced on its existing BEV2 platform. At the 2019 North American International Auto Show, CEO Mary Barra revealed several details about the group's upcoming series of EVs,[6] which included a crossover from Cadillac.[7] As of March 2020, the name of this vehicle was confirmed to be Lyriq, pronounced "lyric".[8] This name follow as pattern of several prior Cadillac concept vehicles, including the Evoq, Provoq, and Celestiq, all deliberately ending in "q".[9]

Prior to the novel coronavirus outbreak of 2020, Cadillac had planned for a U.S.-market reveal of April 2 of that year, followed by a launch soon thereafter for the 2021 model year. Since the outbreak and subsequent launch cancellation,[10] the vehicle has been delayed but not cancelled,[11] being planned for an initial release in China followed by a U.S. release for 2022.[12][13]
