Cəbrayil
Cəbrayıl (English: Jabrayil) is a city in Azerbaijan and capital of the Jabrayil Rayon. Since 1993, it has been occupied by Armenian forces.

History
According to the Russian Empire Census in 1897 Cəbrayil was a village with a population of 520, 186 were Azerbaijanis, and 76 were Russians.[1]

- Jamil Ahmadov – Hero of the Soviet Union.[2]
- Teymur Guliyev – Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars (1937–1953) and the Council of Ministers of Azerbaijan SSR (1953–1954).[3]
- Ramil Safarov – An Azerbaijani army officer convicted of murdering an Armenian soldier in Hungary.
