Background

The Beach Boys made some demos in 1961 with the help of Murry Wilson, the group's first manager, and father of Beach Boys siblings Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson. The material was produced by the producers Hite & Dorinda Morgan. Hite later produced their first single, "Surfin'", released on Candix Records.

This album contains some unreleased material, among them numerous takes of songs that showed up on later Beach Boys albums.
