Assassination attempts on Pervez Musharraf

Pervez Musharraf is a former President of Pakistan who has survived multiple assassination attempts and alleged plots.[1][2][3]

Attempts

On 14 December 2003, about 7:00 pm in Rawalpindi, Musharraf survived an assassination attempt when a bomb detonated on a bridge half a minute after his motorcade had crossed.[4][5]

On 25 December 2003, eleven days after the previous assassination attempt, two suicide bombers crashed their vehicles into his motorcade and detonated car bombs killing at least 12 people and injuring at least 46 others. Musharraf who was enroute to Rawalpindi from Islamabad, remained unhurt in the attack.[6][7]

On 6 July 2007, Musharraf survived an apparent assassination attempt after his aircraft was fired on as it left the Chaklala airbase in Rawalpindi.[8]

On 3 April 2014, in Islamabad, Musharraf escaped an assassination attempt when a bomb exploded a few minutes before his convoy was due to pass by.[9]
