Aspen Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson County, Colorado, United States. The population was 882 at the 2010 census.[2]

Geography

Aspen Park is located in southern Jefferson County at 39°32′26″N 105°18′3″W (39.540681, -105.300762).[3] U.S. Route 285 passes through the community, leading northeast 25 miles (40 km) to Englewood and southwest 55 miles (89 km) to Fairplay. Downtown Denver is 30 miles (48 km) northeast of Aspen Park.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.5 square miles (6.6 km2), of which 0.01 square miles (0.02 km2), or 0.26%, are water.[2] The community sits at the headwaters of South Turkey Creek, and the western edge of the CDP follows the course of North Turkey Creek. The two creeks are part of the South Platte River watershed.

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 874 people, 326 households, and 251 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 371.7 people per square mile (143.6/km2). There were 341 housing units at an average density of 145.0 per square mile (56.0/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.60% White, 0.69% Native American, 0.57% Asian, 0.69% from other races, and 0.46% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.89% of the population.

There were 326 households, out of which 38.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.6% were married couples living together, 4.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.0% were non-families. 17.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 2.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.68 and the average family size was 3.05.

In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 27.7% under the age of 18, 4.8% from 18 to 24, 34.8% from 25 to 44, 26.5% from 45 to 64, and 6.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 108.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 106.5 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $69,712, and the median income for a family was $71,250. Males had a median income of $51,094 versus $36,875 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $30,383. None of the families and 2.1% of the population were living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and none of those over 64.
