Approval Voting Party

The Approval Voting Party (AVP) is a single-issue American political party dedicated to implementing approval voting across the nation.[1] Co-founded by Blake Huber and Frank Atwood, the AVP had 1,000 registered members in Colorado as of October 2019, granting it minor party status and ballot access there.[2] The party ran Huber for the position of Colorado Secretary of State in 2018.[3] In 2019, Atwood, who sits on the Littleton, Colorado election commission, orchestrated a push to get Littleton to adopt approval voting, which 4-3 in a city council vote.[4] The AVP nominated co-founders Huber for president and Atwood for vice-president in 2020. The nominees were chosen at a meeting in Sheridan, Colorado, using approval voting.[5]
