1974 County Championship

The 1974 County Championship was the 75th officially organised running of the County Championship.[1] Worcestershire won the Championship title.

Points changes

The method of allocating bonus points changed as follows:[2] -

Batting during the first 100 overs of each first innings

  • 1 point for scoring 150-199
  • 2 points for scoring 200-249
  • 3 points for scoring 250-299
  • 4 points for scoring over 300

Bowling during the first 100 overs of each first innings

  • 1 point for 3 or 4 wickets
  • 2 points for 5 or 6 wickets
  • 3 points for 7 or 8 wickets
  • 4 points for 9 or 10 wickets
