  1. California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) was known as Cal Poly Kellogg-Voorhis Unit from 1957 to 1965. However, it was more commonly known as Cal Poly (Pomona).
  2. Northern Arizona University was known as Arizona State College at Flagstaff from 1945 to 1957.
  3. The Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) in San Diego fielded a team that played against colleges and other military teams from 1922 to 1964.
  4. What is now known as the Pomona-Pitzer football team was known as Pomona-Claremont from 1950 to 1961. Pitzer College did not exist until 1963.
