Toyonaka

Toyonaka (豊中市) is a city of about 400,000 in the Japanese prefecture Osaka. It's located close to the huge city of Osaka and is well connected through public transport. Thousands of people commute daily between the two cities, including students of Osaka university who live on the campus in Toyonaka.

Get in

Osaka International Airport is the nearest airport, and even in part situated on Toyonaka's grounds.

There are lots of public transport connections, as Toyonaka is on the Osaka Monorail (which also stops at the airport), as well as on the Midōsuji Line and the Hankyu Takarazuka Line (with connections to Ishibashi and Hotarugaike).

See

  • 🌍 Hattori Ryokuchi Park. A large park, partly within the city grounds, with a number of worthwhile sights. The pretty Hattori Ryokuchi Arboretum (1-13 Terauchi) holds bamboo gardens and some 2,500 cherry trees. The Open-Air Museum of Old Japanese Farmhouses is another favourite, displaying replicas of traditional farmhouses from different parts of Japan.
